New Shoes For The New Season

Going high

Knee-highs and over-the-knee boots are always a must for fall! They look great with skirts and dresses in all lengths and they’re sure to keep you warm. This year, the runway spiced it up and showed various versions of the style. At Chloè, the silhouette was slightly oversize and slouchy and this was also the case at Isabel Marant. At Isabel Marant, the slouch was even more exaggerated. Bottega Veneta also showcased the over-the-knee boot, but their iteration was more like the one you’re probably used to seeing.

Be there & be square

The 90s have had a big resurgence and with that followed the square-toe silhouette! How square you want the toe is however still up to you – some brands opt for an all square-toe while some brands combine pointed and square to elongate the foot. The square-toe silhouette was prominent on the runways of Sportmax and Tory Burch, so you know it’s here to stay.

Going even higher

This trend isn’t for the faint of heart – it’s the poot, a pant boot-hybrid! Sure, there are pros and cons to this contraption, but it’s worth trying out! It’s no surprise that the boot was spotted at Diesel, but Victoria Beckham also showed her rendition of the hybrid. This is two very different brands showing two very different takes!

The knee-high boots are still in as mentioned adobe and the poot is one step further for the bold! One thing is for sure, you’ll save time on picking out both pants and shoes if you opt for the poot.

High shine

We’ve mentioned this in many of our other articles about trends for SS23 as well as others about AW23, but we’re going to say it again. Metallics are here to stay! It’s been really popular on pants this summer but this winter you can prolong the trend with a pair of silver or gold boots.

MM6 Maison Margiela showed a pair of over-the-knee boots in a popping silver color and so did Off-White. Off-White however opted for a nice combat boot, proving that this trend is great for both casual and dressed up occasions. Jil Sander proved that silver isn’t the only way to do metallics and instead chose a pair of boots in gold.
